These happy paperweights are just the thing to keep your important papers right where you want them!
This simple kid's craft will produce a useful project you can use around the house.
What You Need
-Empty plastic capsules, like the ones you get in vending machines
-black acrylic paint
-purple acrylic paint
-paintbrush
-sharpie
-small rocks, dried beans, or rice
-sandpaper (optional)
Instructions
The first thing I did was to paint the lids of my capsules with black acrylic paint.
While the lids dried, I painted the inside of the capsules with light purple paint. You can of course use any color you like for the faces.
When both the lids and the capsules were dry, I snapped the lids onto the capsules and used a Sharpie to draw a happy face on each one.
Finally, I filled the paperweights with dried beans and there you have it! Easy, cheerful paperweights!
Optional Step
If you like you can use some sandpaper to distress the lid of the paperweight as shown below. Whatever you choose, have fun!
